Every company, product and business idea needs a name. It is often the first thing a customer hears or sees and, ideally, it should last for the entire life of the product or company.

Finding that name is anything but easy. A strong name has to be a true all-rounder: it should capture the idea in an appealing way, be distinctive, sound memorable, be easy to pronounce and still feel relevant years from now. On top of that come legal clearance, domain availability and many other practical considerations.

STRONG NAMES was published by Linde Verlag and is also featured as a practical guide by VGSD.

The authors are confident that the book will attract a great deal of interest and inspire more people to explore the world of naming. But doesn’t that risk putting a naming agency out of work?

The authors address exactly this question in the preface:

“When people first heard about our book project, we were often asked why we would want to share all of our know-how so openly. It’s a fair question. What motivates us is the belief that, in the end, many people will benefit from it – including us. Because when you share knowledge openly and honestly, something always comes back. Sharing is caring! And quite simply, it’s great to see the spark ignite in others and creativity start to flow.”

The book is based on the Namestorm® Method, which we have been using for many years to develop company and product names. This is the first time we present the method in book form.

So look forward to a genuine hands-on guide to creating names yourself.
