About Namestorm
We create names
… and nothing else. Everything we do revolves around brand names and naming strategy. As a specialized naming agency, we develop names that elevate brands, spark ideas and get companies noticed. We do not offer full-service marketing from A to Z – we focus exclusively on the full spectrum of naming and brand language.
The name always comes first. It gives every brand and every venture its direction, identity and voice – and lays the foundation for everything that follows.

Sustainability
What does naming have to do with sustainability? More than just the first two letters.
From Germany to Europe and the world
Namestorm was founded in 2005 by Mark Leiblein and, after more than 2,000 naming projects, understands the requirements and expectations of startups and established companies like few others. Most of our clients are based in the German-speaking region. Beyond that, we also work with companies across Europe and in more distant markets such as the United States, Canada and even Australia.
The majority of our naming projects are designed for international or global use. At the same time, we also develop names specifically for Germany, Austria or Switzerland. We also support, for example, Asian companies in adapting their brand names for the European market.
In some cases, Namestorm operates as a “ghost agency” for well-known advertising agencies when naming requires special expertise – or when the task is so complex that it calls for dedicated naming specialists.
Naming: For us, it’s more than finding beautiful names
We offer proven processes that guide every project reliably to its naming moment. Our Namestorm method ensures originality, security and confident decision-making. We translate the core of a venture into name ideas that convince – and often trigger a genuine wow effect. Let our methodology guide you, expect names that surprise and solutions that stand up to scrutiny.
We are also prepared to be firm when a naming discussion goes in circles or when expectations within a team clash. One thing is certain: a new name can never be just a matter of taste. It has too many jobs to fulfill – within a very small space and with only a few letters.
In our field of specialization, we aim to impress not only with names, but with the complete package: empathy, expertise, creativity, diligence, moderation skills, passion, integrity and a clear focus on results.
Building on experience – exploring new ground
Within the industry, we regularly stand out with new tools, methods, services and unexpected insights.
For us, this has always included staying technologically ahead of the curve. Through our startup NameRobot, we have long been developing innovative tools for name generation and evaluation – experimenting with AI more than ten years ago, when the term was still unfamiliar to many. If existing tools do not meet our standards, we develop our own. For example, we use our proprietary domain check to ensure that entered ideas cannot be intercepted or misused.
On LinkedIn and other platforms – whether via Namestorm or Mark Leiblein’s personal profile – we regularly publish insights, opinions and analyses from the world of naming. We share our expertise as podcast guests, guest authors in our naming blog and other media outlets, and of course in our book on naming, Starke Namen, published by Linde Verlag in Vienna in cooperation with VGSD.
A proprietary method for naming
In our practical guide, you will find not only creative techniques to apply yourself. With the Namestorm® method, we have closed a genuine gap in marketing literature. A structured, proprietary method for naming in this form simply did not exist before. Over the years, we have refined the specific sequence of steps in our naming process to such a degree that we can reliably handle even the most demanding projects. And it can also support you if you decide to tackle the naming process on your own.
