We support

climate and environmental protection

Entrepreneurs for Future represents proactive entrepreneurs and companies from all industries who are convinced that faster and more effective climate action is necessary. At Namestorm, we have always believed that we should treat the one valuable planet we have with greater care. That is why we support various climate protection measures and have joined the #EntrepreneursForFuture statement.

The initiative represents more than 4,500 companies, over 250,000 jobs and more than EUR 33 billion in annual revenue.

Concrete Measures

We respect the environment and are convinced that everyone can contribute to sustainability – even in small ways. Often, it does not even hurt and may ultimately save money. We implement the following measures to increase sustainability:

Green electricity: Our energy comes from certified green electricity generated 100% from hydropower.

Reducing energy consumption: We use low-consumption devices with energy-saving modes, keep only essential equipment on standby (e.g. servers), and rely entirely on energy-efficient LED lighting with timer controls.

Saving paper and ink: We exclusively use recycled or FSC-certified paper. Emails and documents are rarely printed and, if so, double-sided whenever possible. We have long avoided laser and color printing; in exceptional cases, we use a copy shop.

Reducing CO₂ emissions: Around 90% of our conversations, meetings and presentations take place remotely, significantly reducing business travel – long before the pandemic. Within Germany, Austria and Switzerland, we travel by train. In cities, we attend appointments almost exclusively by bicycle or public transport.

Reducing pesticides and surfactants: We use only organic products – from Fairtrade coffee and fruit to lunch options. Cleaning is carried out exclusively with environmentally friendly products.

Extending hardware cycles: Even when it is difficult – for example with smartphones or laptops – we skip at least one product generation before replacing devices.

We continuously work to make our processes even more environmentally responsible. We know there is still room for improvement. For example, IT remains a challenge, as there are few truly unproblematic solutions. As is well known, the Namestorm founders also work from a mobile office camper in different countries. At present, this still largely depends on diesel. We have reflected critically on working from a camper van and its environmental impact.

We must also address how we handle AI tools, which are known to consume significant amounts of energy. To be honest, we do not yet have a clear solution here – but we are actively exploring the issue.

We are certainly not saving the world. But we are doing our best, willing to adapt and ready to forgo a degree of comfort where necessary.

In the end, everyone benefits.
