The Namestorm AI Service

Professional naming check for your ideas from AI, workshops or your own research.

A naming expert can quickly spot which AI-generated names have real potential

This is how we turn your AI-generated lists and brainstorming ideas into strong brand names

AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini can generate countless name ideas at the push of a button, some of which may look surprisingly strong at first glance. But which ones really have potential? Which names are actually suitable, can be protected as trademarks and are not already in use or registered? Obvious, descriptive or generic names are often already taken.
That’s exactly where we come in. Where the generative power of AI ends, strategic selection and professional legal screening begin.
Our tip: don’t discard your AI-generated ideas too quickly. Their real value lies in using them as a starting point and source of inspiration on the way to a strong name. After generation, however, the lists need expert review: potentials and risks have to be identified, the field narrowed down and promising ideas often refined or developed further. As a specialised naming agency, Namestorm can usually spot strong approaches quickly with a fresh outside perspective.
Because we’re receiving more and more enquiries on this topic, we now offer exactly this service: we review and curate your name lists, identify the most promising candidates and work further with selected favourites. We then assess whether they are suitable for real-world use, both formally and strategically.

AI Naming Check – introductory offer

Turning your ideas into strong brand names

From €1,990 plus VAT, you can get the AI Naming Check from Namestorm’s naming experts:

  1. Expert pre-selection: Using our professional naming perspective, we identify which names are fundamentally suitable for successful use and show real potential.
  2. Name screening of up to 25 names after pre-selection: We check whether earlier trademarks or existing offers already exist for the selected names (trademark* and internet research).
  3. Creative refinement: Where useful and possible, we develop your name ideas further or give them the finishing touch. With a trained eye, we can often see what still needs to change to turn a simple designation into a strong name.
  4. Recommendation: From all names, we provide a final recommendation of the top 3 candidates (+/– depending on the project), taking the overall picture into account, including communication and strategic fit.

We also consider other important criteria for successful names, such as pronunciation, spelling and future extensibility. This name evaluation can also be combined with additional checks, such as domain research or international linguistic checks.

*Trademark research covers the required goods and services classes as needed, with up to three classes included. Screening includes national trademarks in Germany and Austria, EU trademarks and international registrations valid in these markets. Searches across all 27 EU national trademark registers as well as broader international/global screening are available on request.

Frequently Asked Questions About AI & Naming

Both terms actually mean the same thing: KI is the German abbreviation for Künstliche Intelligenz, while AI stands for the English term Artificial Intelligence. AI is therefore more commonly used in international and business contexts.

In practice, the two terms are often used interchangeably, which is why we use both throughout our content.

We’re very open about this: anyone using ChatGPT, Claude or other AI tools for naming can definitely find inspiration and discover approaches they might not have considered before. In that sense, it’s similar to using naming generators, only AI is much easier to work with through natural-language prompts. We see it as something like the first round of a brainstorming session.
In most cases, though, the real work only starts afterwards. Have all relevant creative directions and naming styles been explored? Which ideas genuinely have potential? Which are too weak? How do you select, refine and check the names so they can actually be used? Which name will still work years from now? And perhaps most importantly: who helps you decide whether you are choosing the right one?
Without the broader perspective of naming professionals, their instinct and the benefit of discussion, AI-generated names remain raw ideas.
If you want to build a strong brand, you have to keep going from there, with or without the support of a naming agency.

No. This is perhaps the most important point many people overlook. AI generates names based on existing language and content, so there is a real risk that suggested names are already protected as trademarks or infringe third-party rights in other ways.
AI-generated names should therefore never be used without prior checks. That is a central part of our AI Naming Check: identifying which ideas are actually viable and helping you avoid potential legal conflicts.

Our service has no industry restrictions. Whether you’re looking for a name for a digital product, a new lifestyle brand, a food start-up or a car model, we can help.

And your name list doesn’t even have to come from AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini. Whether generated with AI or developed in a traditional workshop, we help you bring the naming process to a successful conclusion.

With our expert outside perspective, we filter your strongest candidates and support you with the necessary legal screening.

Not at all! Even before AI, marketing teams and start-ups often spent weeks, or even longer, searching for names in workshops and through their own research before contacting us. We usually come in when the breakthrough idea is still missing, the decision is proving difficult or legal restrictions appear.
And your previous work is far from wasted. In most cases, we can build on it extremely well: uncover overlooked directions, refine raw ideas, eliminate linguistic pitfalls and develop the strongest candidates until they are ready for successful trademark protection.
